Sony’s next flagship phone seems to be getting closer to it’s official announcement as today, Xperia Canopus was certified by famous Japanese authorities which specifically made for KDDI which is one of the famous mobile phone operator in Japan. Based on Blog of Mobile, the device comes with a serial number of PM-0750-BV, with a screen size of 5-inch, LTE connectivity enabled, and possibly could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800(MSM 8974AB) quad-core processor. Nothing else have been revealed by the source as such limited leak of news at the moment. Do take note that this would not be actually the final specification and the image itself would be just a fan art.

However, I would like to predict this device to be actually larger than 5-inch, most probably 5.2 to 5.5-inch, same processor as mentioned above, the same camera which is featured in the Xperia Zs but most likely be a tweaked version with Xenon flash or maybe Carl Zeiss optics? Since this is going to be a flagship device for the year 2014 by Sony, I would reckon they would remain with the glass back and aluminium finish on the sides, IP58 certified dust and water resistant to be present as well, and not to forget, this device would probably come out of the box with the latest Android version which is the Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Some compulsory features such as the NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi would be definitely present as well, but I would wonder if they would make their Android to be switchable between Dalvik and ART? It would be definitely awesome if this KitKat feature is to be remained with Sony’s own software release. Also, hopefully the update would be bug-free so that we, the users would not feel disappointed as the Android 4.3 Jellybean first came with few unacceptable bugs that i mentioned here, which then fixed by their developers which can be done via the Sony PC Companion app. Kudos to the Sony developers.

Are you excited with the latest flagship, the Sony Xperia Canopus? What would you love to see this device to come with?
