Earlier today we were invited to the Moto event which is where few things were introduced.  This includes two new smartphones that belongs to the G series. Moto G5 and G5 Plus were unveiled which is aimed to fulfill the end-users requirements and preference. Below are the surveyed details that the Moto team shared with us during the event:-

With all these data gathered, the G5 was invented to meet all of the requirements. It is capable of providing a great display pleasure with quality, huge battery life and fantastic camera capabilities.

Moto G5

The Moto G5 comes with 5-inch Full HD IPS display which results in breathtaking image quality output. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage. Under the hood, there Snapdragon 430 Octa core processor paired with Adreno 505 for a decent performance and gaming experience. The camera isn’t bad either as there’s 13MP sensor on the main camera with PDAF while the front camera has a 5MP sensor. Out of the box, you will be able to enjoy the latest Android software experience as you get 7.0 Nougat on the Moto G5. Lastly, the battery capacity is set at 2800mAh. Not to forget the metal body finish that both G5 and G5 Plus features which adds a touch of class to its finishing.

Moto G5 Plus

Sized slightly bigger than the G5, the G5 Plus is sized at 5.2-inch with Full HD IPS display. This smartphone comes in two variants which offers either 2GB or 3GB of RAM while the storage is set at 32GB. In terms of performance, you get the most reilable processor of the year. The Snapdragon 625 Octa core processor paired with Adreno 506 makes the multitasking look as simple as ABC. Best part about the camera will be its main camera. It has a 12MP sensor with f1.7 aperture with Dual Pixel technology. We definitely know how good the photo quality will be when it is powered by a Dual Pixel sensor. The front camera comes with the same 5MP sensor. Again, you get the Android 7.0 Nougat software out of the box thanks to Moto’s principle of keeping the customer Royal with sofware being the number 1 priority. Lastly, the non-removable battery is set at 3000mAh with TurboPower fast charging capability.

Both these phones are dual SIM and supports microSD card expansion as well. The G5 Plus is capable of recording 4K vidoes while both the phones comes with fingerprint scanner. The Moto G5 is priced at 199 EUROS (RM9xx) while the Moto G5 Plus is priced at 279 Euros (RM13xx).

Our Malaysian readers, would you consider getting these smartphones as your daily driver? Would the introduction of this pair effect the rest of smartphone manufacturers in Malaysia?. One thing for sure is we love the Moto G5 Plus so much! You should consider trying it before judging, just like how we don’t judge a book by its cover.

Moto Mods 2017

There are few new addition of Moto Mods introduced today during the event. The significant one would be the partnership between Amazon results in Amazon Echo. This is powered by Alexa, the famous AI(similar to Google Now and Siri) which is widely used in the US. This means you can almost do everything with just your voice rather than any other traditional ways.

Moto Power Pack was introduced as well which is promised to provide an extra 50% of battery capacity into your pocket without having to add too much of weight. This is similar to the Incipio one that was already made available before, however this one is directly manufactured by Moto. The Moto Power will be going on sale soon in the US for just $49.

Another significant and attractive looking mod will be the Gamepad. The Gamepad Moto Mod features controllers similar to the Nintendo switch. There’s even two analogue sticks as well as built-in battery in order to avoid sucking of the Moto Z’s battery life. Would this be the Nintendo Switch killer? Chances are there.

Lastly, new Shell style Mods were introduced as well as mods that can support Wireless charging, 4-SIM cards, tablet docking(similar to Padfone concept) and all of this is possible via the Moto Mods . There’s even a new Mod which charges the phone with same speed as the Turbo charger. So tell me guys, isn’t the Moto Z the most feature-based future proof phone available out there?
