The wait is finally over for the honor 8 as it has arrived officially here in Malaysia. This is perhaps the closest identical looking smartphone with the Huawei P9 especially when it comes to the Dual Camera Lens on the back. This is a big move forward when it is compared directly with rest of the honor series launched before especially with the massive specifications bump and the pricing itself.
I love most part of the smartphone especially the Dual Cameras which I am yet to try while the fingerprint scanner on the back which seem to be extremely useful as it could do more than just unlocking your honor 8. Anyways, the only part I was disappointed will be the lack of OIS and there’s no 4K video capturing capability. The honor 8 priced at RM1699 for the 32GB variants which are limited to only Pearl White and Midnight Black colors while the Sapphire Blue and Sunrise Gold which comes with 64GB of internal storage is priced at RM1899. I will complete my full review first before commenting on the price range as the camera could even outperform the ones with OIS.

One special guest appeared during the honor 8 launch which is the honor 5A. This is a mid-range smartphone which is targeted to aim those who would not want to spend too much and at the same time have the quality and performance similar to much expensive smartphone. I do find this to be still expensive having said there’s no fingerprint scanner with the said price range. However, I am yet to try it out personally and it might prove me wrong. Do take note that the Malaysian market will be getting the one that runs on Kirin 620 rather than the one which runs on Snapdragon 617. The honor 5A is priced at RM599 for the Black and White color variant while the Gold variant is priced at RM629.
